My Teeth Whitening Experience
Hey there and welcome to my first official blog post! For anyone who knows me know I am obsessed with dental hygiene and white teeth in general, I'm that weird girl who keeps a toothbrush and toothpaste with them in their bag just in case. But there's nothing worse than when your teeth feel dirty and almost gritty after eating something (looking at you right at you Ben and Jerry.) I'm generally very blessed with my teeth, I've never had braces or a cavity and they are naturally quite white and healthy. My usual routine is brushing after eating and using Sensodyne Gentle Whitening Toothpaste (I do have sensitive teeth) and if I have an event coming up or just feel my teeth could use an extra little boost Pearl Drops whitening tooth polish. For years this has been my go to routine including regular visits to the dentist and cleanings.
I recently had my teeth whitened for the first time at Clare Teeth Whitening on Friday March 11th when they had the amazing offer for a session for €49 for the month of March! A real steal and no bleach so therefore no damage! I was sold.

I was very excited but also nervous. I spoke to Ellen, the technician, on the phone and was reassured that there was no excessive damage with a promised 10 shades whiter. The treatment uses a gel on the teeth which activates a more natural 'bleaching effect' using an LED light for two 20 minute sessions, with a quick break of rinsing in between.
When I arrived, Ellen measured the whiteness of my teeth against a shade scale. I was originally a shade 14, which I was told was incredibly white naturally. Needless to say I was chuffed at that comment and excited to see how white they could get.
The treatment itself was not as bad as I had anticipated. I found it quite relaxing and caught up on Murder, She Wrote on Netflix, that Jessica Fletcher is just up to no good. After the first round of whitening my cheeks were a bit sore from using the clamps to keep them open. When rinsing them out the gel did taste awful but it's worth it. I sat through the second round a bit more sore in the cheek area but it was in no way unbearable.
Afterwards, Ellen measured my teeth against the scale again and I now reached a between a shade 2 and 4! I was advised to eat a white food diet for at least 24hrs to avoid any staining. I was absolutely delighted with my experience at Clare Teeth Whitening because my teeth are in no way more sensitive than before and damaged. My teeth also appear more naturally white than if I had gotten them bleached which can have that super fake veneer look, which while I love it, wouldn't be my style.
I would totally recommend going to Clare Teeth Whitening or a good LED whitening service in your area. Your experiences my differ from mine depending on your teeth and if you smoke or drink a lot coffee and red wine etc.
I am so happy with the way my teeth have turned out and it has definitely made me even prouder of my teeth and willing to smile more! Hopefully not half as much resting bitch face anymore!
